After-School Program

After-School Location: The Dahlia School Early Childhood at 116 Channel Street, San Francisco

At The Dahlia School, we strive to extend our community beyond our school walls by offering camps and classes that welcome both enrolled and non-enrolled families. Through these programs, we create meaningful opportunities for collaboration, learning, and growth for children and families alike.

Central to our offerings is a commitment to a rich arts and cultural environment that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation. Equally important is our dedication to whole-child development, nurturing each child’s social, emotional, and physical well-being in a supportive and engaging setting.

2026 Enrichment Classes

CAPOEIRA

Classes develop physical, artistic, and social skills through Capoeira, as students work independently, in pairs, and in groups to learn foundational movements, self-defense, improvisation, and performance through guided games. Youth are also introduced to maculelê, a traditional Brazilian stick dance, along with Capoeira’s cultural and historical roots, including music, instruments, and songs in Portuguese. Through dynamic movement and collaboration, students build confidence, discipline, emotional regulation, communication, leadership, and respect for diversity—gaining transferable life skills that support lifelong health, connection, and community engagement.
