Authentic Montessori.

The Dahlia School of San Francisco offers an authentic, international, Montessori Spanish Immersion curriculum with a goal of bringing peace, joy and global mindedness to every child in our community.

The holistic approach of Dr. Maria Montessori helps all children become truly capable and productive individuals by focusing on their moral, behavioral, emotional, and intellectual development. Our Montessori Guides are Association of Montessori Internationale (AMI) and American Montessori Society (AMS) trained educators bringing world-class experience and environments to the children, classroom, school and families.

Language Immersion.

Children have a wonderful ability to acquire language. Multilingualism contributes to the children’s rapidly developing brains as well as exposes them to the notion that there is a broader world around them, full of culture and diverse people.

We offer Spanish language to all children enrolled in the program and intend to offer French language beginning in our elementary program beginning in the Fall of 2023, to develop multilingual graduates.

Community, Diversity and Equity.

Our neighborhood of Mission Bay is as diverse as it is welcoming of children and families. Our students safely discover and explore the world around them via field trips and outings to the vast greens spaces, sports fields, food truck parks and farmers markets, family fitness center, community gardens and parks as they engage in sports, gardening, arts and nature. Furthermore, we support and celebrate a vibrant and diverse parent community intended to learn and grow together, supporting one another in this new phase of life.

Dahlia School of San Francisco is a beautiful and nurturing environment for our children. The teachers treat the children with respect. As a parent, I’m routinely in awe of how small children can accomplish so many incredible things when given the right tools. Dahlia emboldens our children to grow as curious, independent, and kind humans.

The Dahlia is the flower of San Francisco, and as an intentionally diverse community, we believe that every child is a flower of this great city. Our school is committed to anti-biased and anti-racist environments. We admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Our school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. To further support classrooms that are diverse and embrace the world around them, we offer families sliding scale tuition as well as our students regular training in the fine arts.

“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”

- Dr. Maria Montessori
